Bogging and Hestitant B18c1
Hi everyone,
I got an issue with my B18c1. It started acting up really weird. Whenever I start the car, the car would not idle fine. It feels like a total loss of power and not able to drive it at all. It dies whenever you step on the gas or the engine feels hesitant. On top of all that, the engine sounds like an Subaru STi with an aftermarket exhaust. Its shaking really badly like its going to die. On top of all this, no CEL! So strange. So this is a list of stuff that I did but the problem still persists. I changed the TPS sensor, replaced the gasket for the Intake Mani, changed the rotor and cap, replaced spark plugs, spark plug wires, o2 sensor, and even the headgasket because of overheating issues (I really thought it was the headgasket that cause loss of power). So I rechecked the grounds, rechecking timing, and vac lines. Everything is spot on! But the problem still there. So I thought its the MAP sensor, so I swap that out with a known good one. That still didnt help. I dont know what else to check. Help!?

a couple of questions for ya;
1 are you running a cat? if so check to see if it's clogged
2 does your cel come on for two seconds then switch off when you first turn your key on?
3 have you performed a compression test and a leakdown test? if not do those next

Re: Bogging and Hestitant B18c1
1.) yes stock cat
2.)CEL turns on when key is in ignition and turn to the On position and switch off. Then starts the car. Let it idle for few minutes. No CEL at all. CEL was on before for a bad O2 sensor but I replaced that. So im wondering if maybe it was running too rich and cause the CAT to clog?
3.)did a compression test, 180 across the cylinders. Did not do a leakdown test. Youre thinking a bad ringland? I rebuild the head while i replaced the head gasket. So the head shouldnt be an issue.

no mine was not on at all the way i was explained is that both sensors are good and its still transmitting some kind of signal so it will not trigger cel like i said it worked for my d series idk if its the same for b but its worth a shot
