body crack in ek
in 2 out of the 3 ek's ive looked at, the body has a small width crack running up from the driver side mount area up toward the shock tower.
anybody else run into this problem?
as im the 1/3 that isnt cracked and would like to keep it that way by adding aftermarket torque mount if theyll fit with ek w/b series
which another question, is anybody with a ek w/ b series running driver side torque mount?

Ive never seen that....
I wouldn't worry about torque mounts....the B series doesn't push out tq # that would crack much...sad but true.
my bro in law has a diesel pickup with 800ft lbs of tq...that'd be something you got to worry about. The 109 lbs the b16 puts down isn't worrying material.

Re: body crack in ek
i dont have a b16, i have a lsv but the 2 ek's ive seen with the cracks ran b16's. The cars were bought used though with history unknown
i plan on running slicks with a turbo kit, 300-400 lbs of tq is what im worried about
is anyone with a ek or eg running a b series with the torque mounts?

Re: body crack in ek
that crack sounds like it just in the Joint sealer that Honda use
myn lookked like it had cracks but after removal due to a complete shave there was no sign of any problems with the join or panels
Im running Avid torque mounts + engine mounts and found there good
eliminated wheel hop and kept the motor still during shifting gears under high load accel

This is known to happen when running aftermarket mounts and higher hp motors like boosted motors. The metal is thin and fatigues then rips right there. Kind of like how running a larger sway bar in the rear with out a brace will rip the sway bar mounts out.
