Default B-series Torque Mounts in EK

Alright, after drooling over the column for the Speedhunters EK Spoon hatch, I have recognized that I would really like to somehow see if I can source a way to run lower front torque mounts on my Ek with a b series swap. I have my old D-series torque mounts still available, but I know that I need the brackets that mount to the B series motor and transmission. Has anyone ran lower front torque mounts on a B series swap in a EK yet? Maybe a combination of parts might work? Ive tried exhausting search options on this subject with no luck. Just want to know how they did it before I start buying parts, testing and what not. I've attached a picture of the undercarriage of the Spoon build to the post. BTW I am just running a stock LS in a EK hatch at the moment with a knock off ITR header.

Exhausting search options on this subject with no luck, are you for real? B series in an EK?! Where do you people come from?

Honda has already done all the work for you. Try searching back to 1999.

Someone needs to give a reason why they would even thought about lowering their torque mounts?

He isn't trying to lower his torque mounts. The mounts he's talking about are on the bottom front of the engine, thus "lower front torque mounts." He's just telling the location.

Well someone didn't do the swap properly if they left that out.

"but you only need 3 mounts!"

It doesn't help that aftermarket companies don't offer replacements for the other 2 in their mount packages.

Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. The stock mounts, when they're all stock, need all 5 to do their job. Removing the front two puts too much rotational force on the rear mount and shortens it's lifespan. When you upgrade to solid mounts, for the "average" street car swap, the two front torque mounts become superfluous.

There are options out there. They just aren't packaged (because packaging involves raising prices, which will cut them out of the "but I want it cheap now" market that everyone has to play in), and people don't think about them.

I guess I prefer to have all my mounts, whether if there performance or not. Can deny having extra protection.

Hasport recommends using both torque mounts with their engine mount kit. They claim it's for safety reasons if the vehicle were to be in an accident.

here is why you need to run factory torque mounts regardless if using aftermarket mounts or not

I understand what Hasport says, and quite honestly, they have to say for liability reasons. I'm also not sure how front torque mounts stop the engine from going into the cabin in a collision - the subframe isn't exactly an easily bent piece of metal, and it's between the engine and the cabin. Then there's the firewall. If you're in the kind of accident that'll send the engine through the subframe, through the firewall, and into the compartment...you're fucked anyway.

Insurance. The car pictured above wasn't in an accident. Torque mounts would have prevented the engine from sitting on the ground. Doesn't matter if it was owner stupidity, negligence or cheap parts. It's good insurance for almost no cost.

I'm going to swap in a B series, I'll not only be using the torque mounts (Del Sol VTEC), but I'm planning on using the ES inserts with them as well.

That drive side mount doesn't look like a hasport mount...why would they even used that incident to convey a message.

Regardless, everyone has there own opinion.

the point was it can happen with or without a hasport mount. notice the mount itself is still intact

Thanks for the info guys, yeah I have the motor in with just some cheap yonaka mounts, im going to source a a/c bracket and maybe cut the upper portion off for the top two bolts to save some weight and source a transmission bracket as well.
