nOOb.
Other than having the cylinder walls honed by a machinist's shop, that is pretty much your only option. Just remember to use a little engine oil on the honing stones to avoid scratching the bores. Use a drill with a low speed setting as well to avoid overheating the stones.
Here is how a machine shope would do it.

Re: (.Red.EM2)
No, I realize he was asking about block honing. I just don't think
"Is there anything else to use than the hone?"
Counts as a clear question.
"Is there anything I can use to hone a block myself?"
May have been a more ...... clear question. I honnestly didn't know what "the hone" was .... yes, such a noob. I should have know what "the hone" was, I mean, they're right next to the blinker fluid at Autozone.

smart ***, look at the title of the thread, "BLOCK hone." he was talking about HONING his block. And he asks,
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PrettyFastRide »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Is there anything else to use than the hone? </TD></TR></TABLE>
And you ask,
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Eran »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Anything else to use for what to do what?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Which he awnsered in his thread title and his post. And yes, you can find a block hone at pretty much any parts store. O'Reilly's, Advance, AutoZone, C.S.K, PepBoys. Hell, even Sears/Craftsman makes one.

Re: (.Red.EM2)
I think you're missing the point, chief.
I know what honing a block is. I know what the tool is....
It's not called "the hone."
Try calling a parts store and asking for "the hone."

LOOK, at the thread title. I will copy it for you in big letters.
<FONT SIZE="5">Block hone.</FONT>
Then, he asked, what else can I use other than the hone, talking about the BLOCK hone, mentioned in the title. Can you not put 2 and 2 together. What else would he be talking about?

Similar to the dipshits that say "vtech, you mean the phone?" when someoen ask a question and spells vtec with the h (vtech)Who cares how the question was asked as long as its understood and I dont believe anyone here is having "trouble" with understanding it other than you

Hey man, no hard feelings. I was just pokin at you until das-uber-mod decided to go batshit on me LOL
Good luck honing your block. They're most commonly called a honing ball or honing bit if you're looking for one.
