i wanna use a bigger throttle body on my d16z6. where can i find one that will work w/ my motor? i just wanna use one from another motor... i know i can buy a brand name one but i dont have that kind of money... will a throttle body from another car work?? what will i have to do???

If thats what ur lookin for i'd suggest looking into an Intake Manifold with bigger ports on it "skunk2 worked fine for me".. Got ported an polished, match set with my I.M. an walaaaah... Made little bit of difference, but unless you have like a downdraft old school IM where it goes vertical instead of horizontal i'd concentrate more on legit bolt ons.. LS t/b well work though if thats what ur looking for...also H22A i believe can be used but H22A is same as GSR 60mm i believe... But also, with zero engine mods a larger TB will give you a more responsive pedal. A bigger TB well have a larger opening and more air can be inhaled with a lesser throttle Position, so ur throttle response well be a little bit quicker... from what I know anyways....

ok...so if i use a bigger t/b then my throttle response will be lowere than if i use a smaller t/b???... the engine will be mod.... what would you recommend?? bigger or keep what i have....???

bigger TB more air an better response... Skunk2 comes with one optionally that well notice a significant difference.... good luck..

a b series tb will bolt right on
the vtec ones are larger than the ls

this thread remind me of an old magaizine article. they installed a larger t/b on a supercharged 200whp d16z6 and had no significant hp gain. the only benefit was that the car seemed faster, because at less throttle opening, you were giving the motor more air. but, at wfo it made no difference. the motor would only accept a certain cfm, and that was it.

i suggest looking elsewhere, unless you have exhausted all other motor mods (big cams, higher compression or big turbo etc)

right, its not going to give you any power gains

I actually put a gsr tb on my y8 and I get better mpg. Its nothing significant, maybe 2-3 more than I was getting before (and Im still driving the same and getting gas from the same place)

pretty much all throttle bodies will fit on your z6

I helped build a custom intake manifold that has 4 suzuki hyabusa throttle bodies on it. Aparently this mod will give a naturally aspirated motor a few HP.

Quite a few depending on the engine and tuning. And they are called Hayabusas.

I currently installed a Integra GSR throttle body on my d16y8, before I was running a helix power power throttle body spacer. It works just as well as the stock d16 throttle body with the helix throttle body spacer.

The spacer does work though, I tried driving my car without it running just the d16y8 TB it sucked without it. So I'm going to get a Helix spacer for the GSR and I bet that will have sweet results.

I guess I'm saying there is better mods to do than a throttle body swap. Get an Unorthodox Pulley kit, those will give you more power at every RPM, best bang for buck bolt-on out there, you won't lose power with those, you'll only gain it.

i would do a little research before getting an unbalanced crank pulley. the "accessory" one's don't worry me.
also, i would like to know what a spacer could possibly do besides give you a space to drill a port for nitrous or something.

Spacers do absolutely nothing...its all in your head.
If you really want to mess with the air current, get a ventuli plate
