Default Which is a better form of air induction

I have a CAI but I'm running it as a short ram right now do to rain and me not having a passenger side fender well lining. I was wondering would it be worth it to run the factory airbox with a K&N drop in filter and then run some cold air ducting from the bottom of the factory airbox like the Comptech Icebox. Then I would cut my short ram intake piping to connect to the factory airbox and replace the factory intake piping? Would that provide me with gains similar to my CAI??? Kind of like a home made icebox.

I'd reinstall the splash guard and use a cold air intake. I had a drop-in K&N and it sucked. I didn't have the custom tubing but I doubt that would be as good as a true CAI. I bought an AEM CAI and couldn't be happier. As for rain, don't drive through huge puddles or accelerate hard through them and you should be fine.

run an ITR intake box (no need for K&N) they have the cone filter inside, then just run some tubing for cool air inlet. Thier is another Honda that has the same air box, Accord I think, ohh well it is late.

Is the ITR airbox different from a GSR airbox?

i would think its cuz the surface area of a cone filter is nearly twice that of a dropin

i had the CAI on mine, but i cut it for the rain, but im not gonna put the CAI back on, i like the short ram, i just cut it just long enough so the filter is all the way in the corner of the engine, i like short ram a lot more than the CAI, feels better to me...

$32 versus $200. The CAI BETTER be better. The drop in K&N's are better than stock, but the air still has to deal with the factory piping and airbox, which is still a significant restriction, in comparison to a true, rigid CAI.

Did you say it sucked compared to stock or to CAI?
