Default Intakes yo

Ok I have a few questions regarding intakes...y0

Anyway I see most "JDM" engines have the stock tubing with a filter at the end, isn't the stock tube's diameter too small? I know the plastic or whatever keeps it cooler, but the metal's tube is larger.

And will a short ram intake perform better at top end RPM opposed to a cold air intake since the tubing is shorter and the air doesn't have to make all those turns?

One last thing, what are yall's opinions on the ice box intake?

Thanks.

the ram air intake will give you better throttle response than the CAI.

I switched my CAI back to a stock air box with a K&N filter. It just seems more responsive like this with my setup.

The AEM CAI is the only aftermarket intake I would use... STOCK airbox for me tho!!!!

Comptech Icebox is a quality part that gives good power. I've installed one, the fit was excellent and it made similar power to the AEM. Seems like the best of all worlds, but it's pricey.

Cause I rather do that than pay like $365 for the Comptech model.

Well air has a shorter distance to the throttle body.

I'll try and find a link.

True, but there will always be air in the intake. Nature abhors a vacuum, you know.

Build your own CAI for cheap. You'll love it!
