Default Best way to a quiet exhaust?!?

Without taking the easy way out and getting a Apexi WS (I would, though, they are just out of stock everywhere).. Greddy and all that nonsence are out of the picture, due to price and the fact that they are huge. Right now I have a stock ITR cat, no resonator in the B-pipe, and the 5zigen fireball Cpipe/muffler. A local shop recommended a resonator (14-inch long bullet style), and the plug that fits in the tip of the fireball. Will this make somewhat quiet - close to the WS perhaps?? Or is a muffler change also in the cards for me?? I was looking at a dynamax or magnaflow universal, any experiences with sound or specific part numbers out there?

thanks,

ceas..

A silencer helps.

Get the longest resonator possible. Or an ITR b pipe.

take the time to measure the longest, straightest place on your exhaust and find a resonator to fit the bill

Warning: a silencer will make it sound raspy. horrible actually. it's fine when cruising, but when it's free-revvind downward, you'll wish your windows were tinted.

if you have an extra resonator welded in it will help the sound.

Just make sure you know how quiet the WS is, it is NOT stock sounding at all. I have one and it's very quiet yes, for some people too quiet, but lots of people compare it to an ITR exhaust...it gets pretty loud when you are the gas, midrange to top-end. A resonator will quiet things down greatly, gets rid of the buzz in some exhausts. Everybody is right about the silencer...it works great, especially the Tanabe RM silencer for the Tanabe RM, but it makes the car sound terrible.
