I have a 97 CX with junk-yard gsr brakes on it.. What would be the best/easiest master cylinder and booster to upgrade to?

alot lot of pples us the integra RS m/s since it didint come with abs... give b18c5-eh2 a IM..... he done it ... or do a search if you can............

Get the 1" GSR MC & Booster and take the Integra RS PV (part #4040 stamped on it)

Use the 98-01 integra MC and booster, it bolts right up to 96-00 civics. If you want a 40/40 prop valve, get the 99-00 si prop valve.

I do not have ABS, how would this affect installation?? I definatly need some sort of proportioning solution, why would it be better to go with 99-00 si instead of 98-01 TEG? Just wondering

The si prop valve does not have the extra inlet for the abs line and is made for the 96-00 civics. The integra mc will go right in whether it had abs or not. I am using the 98+ gsr mc on my 2000 civic with no problems at all. I did not bend any lines or reflare anything.

if you moved the abs unit from the gsr you would have moved a whole lot of stuff. including sensors, axles, abs releys, as well as a lot of other stuff. If you already had abs...umm i dunno how well your abs will work if you upgrade your booster and stuff. Theoretically it should be fine but i don't have an answer for you. Yeah do use the 40/40 proprotionaling valve if you plan not to use ABS otherwise your brake balance will be alll screwd up.

how much did you pay for you MC, Booster, and Prop valve

I'm in a similar situation.

I have a 93 DX hatch and I recently purchased a complete GSR brake swap. Since my car doesn't have ABS, should I find MC from a RS?

I paid $35 Canadian for mine from a scrap yard..it came off a 94 'Tegra RS.

and $125 Canadian for a 2001 GSR MC and booster.. I got it all installed last week. It works great with the new Fastbrakes kit.

You might want to have them double check the part number between your CX and SI. They should be the same for the proportioning valve. I know they are the same between the 99+ DX and SI

it's actually really simple, just make sure you have a PV stamped with a 4040 on it and 6 brake line entry points. That'll signify a NON-ABS Rear disk PV.
