Benen Industrys Strong bar (rear bumper)
Ok this bar:
Replaces the big *** steel tube which is our bumper, not that painted plastic cover. It is 30lbs lighter than stock, so better loss than a CF hood. What do u people think? They go for around $140 + shipping I am guessing.

I believe you have to keep the bumper support to put the strongbar on. The strong bar only acts as a reinforcement for the chasis and not as a rear bumber support.

Tough to lose 30 pounds when the bumpers weigh about ~7 pounds.

you do not need rear bumper support in for that bar.....
if you can't figure out how to mount it in the car without the rear support then you don't need it in your car....you're just a ricer if you use that bar and don't autox or roadrace....
and....if you take your rear bumper support out and are rearended you probably won't get a check for damage to your car

I don't race or autox but I do a lot of spirited driving. Lots of curvy mountain roads where I'm from and if the bar improves the way my car drives then I'm getting it.

Re: (Carlo)
ok lets clear this up... first of all this bar goes inside your trunk, it is not meant to replace you bumper support, which is outside the car under your plastic body panel bumper cover.
if you do decide to take out your bumper support then this bar installs in the trunk to maintain the stabilty of the rear frame rails.
if you drive on the street then dont take your bumper support out for insurance and safety reasons.
if you are thinking about buying one of these to use in conjunction with your bumper support then yes it will make the car feel alittle tighter..... BUT dont waste your $ b/c you can go to home depot and buy tubing to serve the same purpose.
