Default BBK intake mani help quesions!!!

Alright h-t, I just finished installing my new intake manifold and throttle body today on my car. I installed a bbk intake manifold along with a 70mm throttle body. My problem that I'm having now is that the car feels sluggish. When Im at wot the car feels like it lost its ***** compared to the way it was with the gsr intake manifold.

Also by the way car is a 98 civic hatchback with a 97 gsr swap, it is obd2.

The gsr manifold is designed to be "torquey" while in the lower rpms. Then in the upper range the iabs open making the manifold have longer runners.

So your loosing your low end power while gaining some in the top.

Yes there are some other mods on the car that affect performance....
It has;
Aem intake
bbk intake mani and throttle body
chikara header
apexi n1 exhaust

Right now I have new 2.5in exhaust piping on the way for me as well as a test pipe because currently I'm running stock cat and my apexi exhaust is leaking like crazy. So I know once the new exhaust piping and test pipe are installed there will be minimal improvements as well.

You need to have the car tuned. Other wise you just wasted a lot of money on power adders for noithing

This bolt on was a bad idea. Both those parts run like $300 new. And you may have just added only like 12hp while losing a lot of torque probably.

Lol first off I'm not dumb enough to blow money on a bunch of **** at full price when I can get it for less than half off from people who pay full price and never use it, so I dont need an ignorant ******** coming in my thread assuming I did. If you're saying its stupid to blow $300 on an intake manifold then why do half the people on this site actually blow that kind of money on just an intake? Or maybe we can go waste money on ratttle cans to paint our tail lights black.

I realized this was a stupid question after I posted it. I was just in a panic mode because it felt so different when I first drove the car compared to the previous setup I was running. Now that I fooled around with it, fixed a vac leak and reset my ecu it is running great! I can still feel the loss of torque but I believe that the gain in top end power has definately compensated for it. I also believe that when I finish gathering the turbo parts I'll be happy I have this manifold setup.

Also phaphon the problem I experienced with the throttle body was that the opening on the mani was too large and left part of the hole exposed. Which led me to the need of the bbk throttle body after comparing various others on the manifold.

Do not underestimate people and there ability to buy very expensive things because the internet says so.

I'd waste $12 over $300 anyday.

I wouldn't have made a statement had you said this, but you had to get all pissy. Not my fault you didn't give me all the info, I was just trying to give it to you straight.

yes, that's right. BBk and 70m Throttle too big not good with stock swap. Only good with big/small turbo.

For a 70 you need some heftier mods; turbo, cams, built motor. With your basic bolt ons your gains will be minimal the the larger TB.

Ya lynxs Im currently in the process of gathering turbo parts together and plan on putting everything on over the winter. So having this setup will not be a waste. I had to get the 70 because it was the only throttle body I could get to match up right with the manifold. Trust me money was not wasted on this manifold I got it crackhead cheap.

Also 93Eh6p ya mine does have the idle adjustment screw. If you're staying with bolt ons it is a waste, if you plan on boosting though you'll be happy to have this setup when you do.
