Default Battery issues again...

Ok well for about a week my car had a dead short. I would jump it off usually twice a day just to get home and such. Well I finally took the car into the local Honda dealership and they traced the problem to the rear defroster. So they told me instead of running my bill up they would just disable it. Well the car does fine for about a week and then last night I smell that strong sulfur smell again and I get home and my battery is steaming. From what I've searched for on here a few say that after a battery dies over and over again it's no good. I'm gonna fill it with distilled water and try it and if that does nothing the battery is still under warranty so I'll just go pick up a new one.

Anyone have some input on this?

if the batttery is still under warrenty, why not just go get a new one? If your warrenty is pro rated, just make sure to do it before the end of the month. Did unhooking the defrost fix the short? Dead shorts are bad, they can start fires, and also bad batteries can explode. Just go exchange it!

The dealership told me they just disabled my rear defroster instead of fixing it to save my money. They charged me 2 hours of labor to find and fix(disable in my case)the problem. The battery which is about a month old came with a 2 yr warranty so it's still good. I'm going to get a dizzy cap and rotor button tomorrow anyway so I'm gonna exchange the battery anyway instead of ******* with it.

Well turns out my alternator is putting out 17 volts. Thankfully it wasn't another dead short/wiring issues though.
