Yeah. You do realize that engine shares nothing in common with what most people refer to as the B-series family right? You have to fab up some mounts, I think the prelude uses a cable tranny so you'll have rig something up there too. On top of that the engine only puts out 19hp more than what your making now and has no aftermarket support. My advice, pick a different engine, even if this one was free I wouldn't consider it a sensible choice.

IMO, I've always found the B20A5 to be a good motor, but in a civic... makes me very curious to see this done (if it does work).

I know that its difficult to get aftermarket parts, the whole prelude was free, dont really feel like making engine mounts,
What would be the easiest and best swap into this car?

Those two terms are almost mutually exclusive. Fortunately the latter has a rather high degree of subjectivity associated with it.
By far the easiest would be another D series motor. "Best" has no bearing until you provide parameters for exactly what constitutes any given motor being better than any other.

Every swap guide, book, human being that does Honda's etc. has always said to stay away from that swap considering those engines are hot trash and there is very little aftermarket support for them. Good luck.

Ehh.. what..? So there's preludepower.com that has many human beings that work on hondas who many still work on and ride with the 'hot trash' b20a5s and and do damn great with them.
It's a matter of personal preference and can always be great when done right. Again, personally, kudos if someone does this swap into a later generation civic newer than the EF, that's been done.

I've never had any personal expirence with the B20A5, but everything I ever read on them said they were junk too. Then again if you don't mod them they probably last forever like every other honda engine.
To the OP, like kendall said another D-series engine would be the easiest. and easiest and best are definately mutally exclusive terms. If you were to combine the 2 terms i think you would find B18C5 at the top of your list though. Only thing is its not cheap at all, but it does drop right in with stock mounts and involves very little wiring. And its about the most powerful thing you can just drop in without having to buy special swap mounts.

True story. Enjoy being different if you want. There is no problem with doing that swap except a decent amount of custom fab, time, and money. Also enjoy the lower than LS HP numbers but go wild.
