Default b18T or b16T swap question

Alright I have a 98 Civic EX Coupe (d16y8) and Im planning on swappin it with a b-series and boosting it afterwards. I was gonna boost my d16y8 but then things arent going as I planned. I kept gettin these problems and thought all this trouble jus for a lousy 200hp (I have another post about my problem). So now Im swappin it with either a b16 or b18b1. Anyway, I did a little research and found that the b18b1 would be better to boost due to its low compression. But someone told me that I might lose my AC and P/S when I install it. Is this true? Im from hawaii and I need my AC and P/S. I also found a built b18a motor for sale, but it has a cable Tranny. Could I just get a B-series 5spd Hydro Tranny and install that or is there more to it? Which would be easier to install a b16 (99-00 SI) or a b18b1 (94+ LS)? and Why? My car been down for almost a year now and I need a ride to get to work. Im tryin to get my car done ASAP. Thanks in advance people.

You wont loose your P/S or A/C with any Bseries swap, all you need to do is get a 99 Si A/C bracket or a Delsol VTEC A/C bracket so you can attach your compressor to the B motor.

I would go with a 1994+ LS motor, lower compression (safer to tune, more room for error) and the extra displacement and torque make for good daily driving. The already built motor would be out of the question for me because I've seen bad things happen when people buy other people's projects.

damn I always wanted to go LS/VTEC. Ever since I was a freshman in High School. But I kept hearing all these problems with it so I never got around to doing it. Also, I dont have that much time and money to spend on a LS/VTEC. Anyway, back to the topic. Oh and another question, are b18b1's Obd2 or Obd1? My car is ob2 and I was told its gonna be a bitch converting it to obd1.Anymore inputs?
