Default b18c5 sputtering and moving???

car = 99 DX HB w/ 98 USDM ITR

my motor has been running quite healthy considering the misshifts and what not that i've put it through. recently when i shift or stay in one gear idle at a certain speed and left off the gas (or even give it more gas) it feels like the motor is shifting around in the car. like a mount is blown or something and the motor has more movement range in the bay. i don't know, it could be something else, that's one of the reasons i'm posting.

the other reason, today my car was sputtering... it progressively got worse. felt almost like a fuel delivery issue. i have a used b16 fuel pump, from a 99 Si. 98 GSR stock FPR... haven't had an issue to this day. tomorrow i'm going to put coolant in my car, as well as change the oil/filter. just would like to get some ideas on how to diagnose my problem more.

RECAP:
issue #1: engine movement during shifts/downshifts, or accel/decell in any gear.

issue #2: engine sputtering.

i'm also going to inspect my timing belt tomorrow... again, any input on how to diagnose my issue is appreciated.

1: check engine mounts, if there ripped or broken, get a set of poly mounts or inserts.
2: ceck spark plugs, check distributor(rotor), change fuel filter etc.

last time i did a test it was 215 all the way across... i think, either that or 235... maybe 1 or 2 difference on any cylinder. i don't have the means to do a comp. test.

i keep seeing other hatches and jdm style'd cars, but never meet up with any really so i don't have connections in the so cal area. currently i'm in palm springs, for how long i don't know... but if someone's in the area and lookin to help someone out, PM me.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by street sleeper &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">1: check engine mounts, if there ripped or broken, get a set of poly mounts or inserts.
2: check spark plugs, check distributor(rotor), change fuel filter etc.</TD></TR></TABLE>

start there.

i know for my car it started to sputter when i gave it gas and it turned out to be the fuel pump inside the tank.

so you checked your fuel system(injectors, pumps) and your spark(timing), its hard doing this stuff over the internet cause i can only give info based on things that happen to me.

i haven't checked anything yet... just asking for suggestions. i'm sure i could figure out how to check the fuel system, but to do it without spewing gas everywhere, i don't know... never done it.

when i asked for help in the so cal area (palm springs) i meant is there anyone local with resources to do these tests. thanks guys for the input so far.

update:

i had less than 2 qts of oil and my coolant overflow tank was bone dry... i have a fuel cut off switch that i had spliced via electrical tape. i soldered those connections, did an oil/filter change, and bought prestone premixed 50/50 mixture (yellow bottle). we'll see how things go.

i'm still looking for someone in my area w/ the tools neccessary for a comp. test. and i want to do a leakdown, and check headgasket. plugs will be checked tomorrow.
