B18C swap into EG DONE, but TACH doesn't work!
Wassup guys, I finished up my motor swap not too long ago and now just waiting on registration. But the first time we started up the car, everything was working fine except the tach wasn't working. My car has been sitting on my driveway for over a year until she finally got a motor in her. Can that be the problem for the tach? The tach was working fine before I started the swap a year ago. Now with it finally in the tach doesn't work. I asked a friend who helped out with the wiring for the swap about the situation and he told me that he didn't even touch the that part of the wiring when helping with my swap. He had no idea to fix the problem so I am asking for help from you guys.

Did you use a new harness? Sometimes that wire is cut because people like to wire up big tachs.
Or it can be the part of the harness on the engine..by the dissy.

the RPM lead from the distributor (blue wire) has an open circuit or is not connected to the tach you are using.

The tach was working fine before the swap how can it be broken? I will look for the blue wire poison and see what that will lead to. I had to use a new harness since the motor was RHD, I got a GSR OBDII one from b18c1_powered_si. I asked my friend who helped out with the wiring for the swap and he told me that he didn't mess with anything related to the tach. So could the problem be me running an obdII distributor in my civic, or does that not matter? Thanks for the help so far guys, I just hope I don't need to buy an autometer tach in the future. At least they offer a 3inch size but still having the stock tach working is a luxury in a sense.

my opion,is that the obd2 harness is not matchin the pin up for the tach,i would of used the stok eg harness and just mended it to fit the gsr intake manifold,or just upgrade to a itr or skunk2 manifold....and i just ran the vtec pressure wire and switch wire direct to the ecu and i would have added knock sensor aswell.....my opion
