B18b-T or GSR?
The swap should (hopefully) be coming in the next few months, but I'm torn between going cheap right now with a B18b swap and turbo later next year and going ahead and spendging the extra $$$ for a GSR swap now. Any ideas/opinions would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

I would, but doing the GSR swap would put me too much in the hole to turbo next year. Plus, if I got a GSR, i would more than likely go NA rather than turbo. Like Pho said, much less expensive to fix if I blow the LS.

Thats true, but this is why I'm asking the questions now, instead of later. Hopefully I can get some opinions from people who have owned/worked on both setups.

THere are a lot of guys that turbo the b18b with sucess. It's not that hard to do and can be made pretty reliable. A turbo b18b puts out more power than an n/a b18c hehe. ALso b18b (ls) blocks can be had for pretty cheap..rougly 300-500 bucks in good confdition

Depends on what you want to do. For ***** and giggles just on the street, i will get the B18B-T. Nothing beats BOV and turbo sounds....and the powa! Gawd....but if you plan on doing some road racing/autocrossing, it will be cheaper, more reliable in the long run to have a GSR. So it really depends on what you want to do. Good luck.

Re: (votebam1090)
Not really looking for a huge amount of power, enough that I can still keep it streetable but put down decent times at the track, be it drag/autocross whatever. When I was dead-set on getting a GSR swap my build plan was this:
B18c1 block
P&P B18c1 head
ITR intake manifold
Toda valvetrain
toda spec-b cams
11.5/1 comp pistons
Toda header
Hondata
Plus upgraded injectors, adjustable cam gears, etc.
This was my three year plan for the car, but now I'm wondering if just throwing the LS motor in there with a bolt on turbo kit and FMIC upgrade would be a better option. Reliability is a factor, as i dont have a beater yet.
