B18B in EJ8
So I need a new engine. Long story short is my brother drove my car while I was on vacation and I need a new engine. I had the stock D16Y8 and I figured why not upgrade a bit?I'm strapped for cash but that shouldn't matter because my brother is paying. Problem is I need to get the motor for as much as it would be to get a D swap with install and all. I searched for some expensive D's and found one at a Junkyard for $475. I have someone I know who will charge $500 for install. So roughly $1000. Help me? What other things do I need aside from engine, tranny, ecu?

your also gonna need axles, shift linkage, mounts, ls throttle cable, and a ecu. if you look around you should be able to find full ls swaps in junkyards for around 500-1000.

Yeah I looked at a couple junkyards around here but no integras. And only 1 civic. Tomorrow I'm going to another one about an hour away so I hope I can find one there. Is there any real way that you can tell how many miles an engine has on it?I know you can do a compression test but that doesn't tell much about the miles.

You can run a carfax on the vin on the motor. Or just look at the gauge cluster in the car the motor came from (if it's still there).

Re: (I heart my Honda.)
Just to add - you don't know exactly how the motor was treated when the car was on the open road. Some of those cars are in the junkyards for reasons!

I need a motor bad. I'm still a "noob" here so I can't really hit the market places just yet. Is anybody on here selling any engine?D or B? I need one ASAP. And proximity is key...
