Default B16B or B18C1

If a stock B16B and a stock B18C1 were racing would the extra 5 hp from the CTR or the extra 16 lb ft torque from a GSR be faster ? Im contemplating about which motor im more interested in i have about 3900 to spend.

Just my opinion, but go with a GSR motor. If you're swapping it into a non-GSR, you can register it w/the CA state referee and be legit, plus you'll have the torque of the 1.8

I'd get the CTR and stroke it to a 1.8.

I hope that wasn't to me. I mean come on, what would win, a GSR or ITR motor? The CTR motor is just a destroke ITR motor, so it would be easy to make it perform just as well as an ITR motor(rods, crank I think ).

If I'm wrong, please dont school me too bad Tom! I'm still a newbie!

buy the ctr motor, and a cheap gsr shortblock, throw the ctr pistons in the b18block, then sell the b16 block with the gsr pistons to someone who wants to turbo... serious **** right there.

Why do that when you can get a B18 crank?
If someone ever looks under the hood and sees the B16B, they wont know you have a 1.8 crank.

go with the 1.8, you will need a little more tq or at least want more tq down low, trust me

Man, I would seriously go with the CTR motor. If you want a nice motor with OEM parts, the CTR would be perfect. You can change out the crank/rods to stroke it to a 1.8 and beat GSRs all day long.
