B16a3 vs. d16z
I searched but could not find anything. Is it worth the extra money to buy the B16 over the d16 del sol. I am thinking it is but i have never driven a d16z sol. I always look for the top of line engine available in my cars. but i am wondering your opinions, or would it be cheaper to buy a si sol and swap in a b16 or even just a s sol and swap in a b16?

If I'm not mistaken a del sol is pretty heavy 2500lbs so with d16z6 it will be pretty slow like 16's. b16 wouldn't be too much improvment, but it's alot more friendly set up for modding.

alot of guys are going to tell you different stuff... b16s stock are like... 140 HP ... compared to maybe 123 on the single cam... i think alot of guys on here are like... "holy single cam" kinda guys... but i think it'd be cool the have a hot swap like that...
EDIT:.... alot of guys also say that d-series dont respond as good to bolt-ons....

here is my $.02 id get the b16 sol cause lets face it eventually u will want a swap if u have a sohc or u will want to boost it. why not start out with a "sort of" swap (i say sort of because yes it came in the car but not everybody has one if u dont like how i put it O WELL) and eventually boost it or add nitrous. whichever, im a B-Series kinda guy and i like the style of the sol, so i say Del Slo DOHC VTEC is what u need.

Compare stock to stock numbers:
B16A - 160hp or 170hp for the second-gen JDM one
D16Z6 - 125hp
Also note the B series trannies have better/shorter gearing.

hey i said i am biased, but if the b16 del slo is like 5 or 6 more g's than the the z6, then it isn't worth it, so do what u want, would just get the z6 and turbo it
