Default b16a2 noise wtf is it

so I have searched and tried everything I can think of to find out what this noise is and how to fix.

It is a clicking/tapping noise - came after overheating - just had help adjusting my valves so they should be to spec
compression check 1-3 got about 180 #4 I got about 160 or so
have fluids (oil and coolant)

Closest I can find to this noise is this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43HrtTcKnUw

not smoking, burning fluids, leaking, goes into gear and drives okay. What in the world is this noise?

well if it sounds like that, then it sounds to me like you've spun a rod bearing. And if that is the case the sound is going to get much worse fairly quickly. Definately don't continue driving it if this potentially is the problem, you'll only chew up your crank even more.

thats what I thought at first but the way it was intermittent such as I rev up it will stop for a few seconds as idle drops I thought valves but don't want to 100% eliminate anything

has been driven about 10-15 miles max since started
I just need more ideas and some insight as to somebody who can identify it for sure..

no comments on video some other similar noise videos turned out everything from nothing but noisy valve train to exhaust bolt springs

to me it sounds like it is coming from the head but I dunno

with rod knocks, atleast ones i have watched or seen personally, they tend to quiet up for a second if you blip the throttle. and then as the rpm's come back down is when you get the angry knocking noises. While its making these noises you should get down on the ground and try to get as close to the block and crank area as possible, and see if it sounds louder from there, than it did by the head. Can you get a soundclip or video clip of what its doing?

without a video/sound clip of your car making this noise, its going to be hard to say with absolutely certainty whether its valvetrain noise, or if its rod knock. You said it sounds just like the one in the video so i'm leaning towards a spun rod bearing being your problem.

that clip is identical to mine basically...I have started thinking that is a possibility but the motor aside from issues getting it in and bad plug wires has been babied - since I have owned it never revved above 7200 - fresh oil consistently.

With it having good compression ~190 and the fact it it starts and runs okay minus the noise I am confused.

what you describe is exactly what you'd expect with a spun rod bearing. the compression would be within acceptable limits, and it should start just fine. If it were major valve train noise you would imagine that your compression would be getting lost through the valves at some point. since you say your compression is 190 across the board, it makes me think the top end is just fine, and your bottom end is what went.
