it is possible with the correct mounts, alternator, dist, injectors, intake manifold etc. you would need to convert the longblock to obd2b specs

If you are in Cali, then its really not worth it to you due to all the emision testing/ car inspections. I put a 92 JDM b16 (these are Gen2 motors BTW) in my 99 hatch, used a obd2b-obd1 conversion harness to run the stock P30 ecu. I basicly switched my car to obd1, which in a lot of states you're not allowed to do, but I am in canada and there is no such law here. The 92+ b16 is a hydrolic transmission so there are no compatibility issues there. As for mounts, you will only need to purchase the rear Si tranny mount (SiR in canada). The rest of the mounts I used the d16 ones (the mount that bolts to the block under the timing cover was still on the motor, I just had to use the D-series top part of the mount).

All in all, if you can get a 92+ b16 swap cheap and dont live in an emision heavy place, go for it.

correct me if im wrong, but i thought it was completely illegal to put engines that were older then the year of the car, (i.e 92-95 b16a, into 99-00 civic) and that you could only put the same year motor as the car, or if the motor is a newer year then the car.

you are correct, the engine must be as old or newer than the chasis

thought so, but I personally think its pointless to put an old engine in a new car, doesnt make sense. High mileage motor in a low mileage chassis, am I not seeing it correctly? lol, not hating or flaming just wonder why.

Its only illeagal in some of the states, in Canada, we can put any year motor in any chassis. A older JDM motor is not necessarly a high milage motor. I've seen Eg half cuts with 20k miles on it. We have no smog checks up here, as long as it looks the part, there are no issues legal wise.
