Default B16 Swap Problems

yo wats up
I got a 96 civic sedan lx...
Me and My friend just put a b16 in it...Im having problems with getting the key out...could it be that the car was automatic before?
Also the tachometer is not workin... I dont know how many miles per hour im going nor i know how many rpms im shifting in...what could that be...
And the last thing is the radiator fan is not workin... Please Help out...Thank u..

for your radiator fan check the fuse under the hood

maybe you guys forgot to connect the speed sensor plug on the transmision and that might be why your tach doesnt work.

it think it has something to do with the wiring cause its a lot of stuff not working not even my vtec man...please help

It would help if you could tell us what gen is the B16, what ECU, wiring harness, conversion from auto to manual, etc..

My bad
Its a 99 ob2 b16, with the 99 si ecu, and the 99 si wiring harness, and yes it was a conversion from auto to manual...
I hope thats enough..

I thought that once u unplugg the 99-00 ECU it doesnt work b cus of the anti theft system or something. i read it on the HONDA ENGINE SWAPS book. they reccommend you avoid this ECU and use the JDM computer. im not exaclty sure dont quote me on this but i sounds right? that might b one of the problems hope it helps

neither will this because it has nothing to do with the ecu.

what you have to do is look for the 2 thickest wires running to the center console, where the auto shifter was. the wires are black, and one has a red stripe the other has a white. you need to cut them and connect them together and the keys will come out. [/QUOTE]

Yes, tricking the car in to park. In an automatic trans car, the only time you can pull out the key, is when the car in PARK. Philosofy1 is correct.
