B16 serial. 56xxxxx???
Can someone explain my B16A serial number to me. It is 5605423. I have been searching but can't find info on 56xxxxx engines. Only 50xxxxx, 52xxxxx, and 54xxxxx. Any help is greatly appreciated.

mainly what year it is. I have been hearing that if its 54xxxxx, its a 92, if its 52xxxxx, it's a 91, so if its 56xxxxx can I assume it is a 93?

Ok so its a 94 b16a engine. But now I can't figure out what transmission it is. I need to know because the input shaft bearing sounds destroyed.

you should have "paper" serial numbers like the pic below. there will also be another tag farther to the passenger side. it will have the label that denotes the gear ratio.

So the tag is completely gone. There is a light pen marking on the top but it looks like it says b18 but the 8 could be a 6. Almost as if the tranny was sitting in a group of several transmissions at maybe a junkyard and they wrote markings on top to identify what each was for. Any other ways?

this question would be best answered by synchrotech. there are markings like b000 and a000 on d series transmissions, but i an unsure of b series.

Yes we have rebuilt transmissions but it will be better to rebuild your core since we do not know yet what gear ratio is in it. PM me or give me a call to discuss the build.
If you decide to have us to do your build: Our Transmissions are completely remanufactured to OEM specs using our unique rebuilding process. Prior to assembly the parts have been cleaned, inspected, and polished in a deburring machine with ceramic media. Any worn parts are replaced including Bearings, Seals, and Synchros. Preload, gear clearance, and torque have all been inspected and adjusted for superior performance.
