b16 running weak, revs limited to 3500
Hi forum. This problem is constantly getting worse and I need to find out what it is asap. Car is a 1998 civic si(Canada) with obd1 b16a sir2 p30 ecu. What happens is most of the time when I start it it goes into what I assume is limp mode because it feels like it is bogging down hard and then backfires when I get to 3500 rpm. The CEL also comes on as CKP crankshaft position sensor every time it goes into this mode. Sometimes it will start without this code (primarily if I start it while giving it some gas) but after a couple miles or minutes it boggs out and goes into this mode.
What I've done:
Plugs, wires, cap & rotor, ign timing, timing belt (dead on). I checked the ckp sensor using the dizzy plug and its reading .350 ohms (within 350-700 range?) I also read somewhere to check if you IACV works take off intake and look inside TB to see if something moves when key is turned to on position - nothing happened. So im not sure if that's an issue.
I'm just really confused because the car ran like a dime before winter and now in spring its running like a bag of **** when it goes into this mode. Otherwise the car runs fine (like 20% of the time). Please help!!!! Thanks

CEL 4, plus the CKP is in the low limit of the range.
I will try another distributor and reset the ECU and see what happens.
Maybe borrow one from a friend!!
