I've been having this wierd problem lately when I turn on my car. I try to crank it but it won't start. The only way It'll start is if I pressed on the gas and the car will start to turn on but like on 2 cylinders. It will start sounding like a subaru for a few seconds then the car gets back to normal idling normally. It doesn't happen all the time but I've noticed that it happens after I've used my car and turn it on like 30min-45min later or sometimes 15min later. It never happens when its cold though.

I'm running on a chipped ecu idk if that matters. chipped p06 on a b16

i just noticed that when i removed my spark plugs theres oil all over the threads

that means that your valve cover gasket is leaking. But as far as it not starting and it misfiring, ive had the same problem before with my setup. Idk what causes it but I never really thought much of it. Do you have bigger injectors? I mean in my setup, basically all the parts are changed, including the engine internals, which is why I never really thought much of the problems as there are certain things you learn to live with when you have a built car :/

What basemap do you have? And your oil problem is probably valve cover seals. They're cheap, replace them and since people rarely do it on time, check your valve lash while the cover is off. Not saying it could be a problem, just a suggestion as sorta preventive maintenance.

idk if it makes a big difference, but a lot of people run big big injectors, like 800-1000cc peak and holds and the stock ecu can't operate those properly. I know it works, people have done it, but I read that you should run an injector driver for them.

Having a built car shouldn't mean dealing with stupid problems though. It will be a little different, idle funny maybe, but it should still generally work like a regular motor should.

it does for the most part. But things like sometimes it misfires for a few seconds when it starts, or it wants to die because there is no IACV (since my setup has no room for one), you just deal with it. But other than little stuff like that, its my DD.
