Just put a b16a from HMO in my 92 civic...used the dx harness (haven't wired vtec yet)

But...the car wont start - getting fuel/spark/air - spark is white with a little orangeish tint

All grounds checked and double checked


Even swapped distributor with a known working one...

Checked all fuses.

Using p30 ecu

Here is the kicker....

Its making funny noise...not like a a regular engine trying to start...its like a spinning/whining noise.

We tried a roll start - still nothing.

Ill try to get a vid and post it...

Any help/suggestions would be great!

Checked CEL got codes 21 and 41. Neither of which I would think would cause this problem.

21 - vtec spool solenoid & 41 - o2 heater....Yeah I don't think those would cause anything like you're describing.

I've never experienced anything like this...assuming everything is plugged up right and you're getting the 3 things an engine needs to run. And all your grounds are connected. Maybe someone else will chime in that has experienced this.
