b16 in a 98 civic
hey whats up? ok i test drove a 98 civic ex with a b16a2 in it and i wasent impressed it seemed like my friends sohc d16z6 coupe could beat it. why would the b16 be so slow? when i buy the car should i maybe tune it, mess with the timimg or what because it dosent pull hard in 3rd at all it just feels like it has no tourque and no power help me before i buy so i can have to dealership do something about it

in the beggining, b16s lack power. Make sure he is running the proper ECU, injectors, ETC... Also does the car have an abnormaly large stereo? If so, weight is a large factor. It came make your 160hp feel a lot less.

I don't know what your talking about my CX hatch pulls nice in 2nd and 3rd in vtec and not that bad in mid range 3k+ but not having a limiter on my ecu is my problem i don't want to kill my valvetrain

has a new ecu it redlines at 9.5 rpm's could that be a factor, stock radio
i drove some b16 hatches and they pull pretty nicely...when is the vtec crossover
