b series swap axle?
Hi, I have a 99 hx with a b16a2 that I bought that way. Long story short I need a driverside axle, and I can't seem to get the right one. I just need the axle, not the intermidiate shaft. I've tried a 99si, and a 99hx. No luck.
So what axle do I need?

Get an ls one. Why not swap it out for the correct one? Change out the half shaft and the axle seal and you'll not need to worry about this issue in the future. It really isn't an issue. Just get an ls axle and you're set

Hell, I'd pull the intermediate shaft anyway just to make sure the correct seal is in the trans. Could be that the wrong seal is in for that shaft since it's a cable Ishaft on a hydro trans (right?) I'm with others; get a 94-01 Integra or 99-00 Civic Si intermediate shaft and axle and you'll be set.

Why is anybody talking about a god damn output shaft seal? He needs an axle that complies with his halfshaft. Get a 90-93 integra axle, any trim works. ls/gs/gsr...

I have used both intermediate shaft with both axle seals and never had a problem, they interchange.

I said it before, I'll say it again: You don't have an axle in there yet so the Ishaft is only 3 bolts to pull out. Measure the OD of the shiny sealing surface on the Ishaft. Measure the ID of the seal. It should measure SLIGHTLY smaller (maybe a few thousandths). If it is bigger, you need to swap the seal.

021 91205-PL3-B01 OIL SEAL (40X56X8) (ARAI) 1 1992 INTEGRA 10.50 7.88
019 91205-PL3-A01 OIL SEAL (35X56X8) (ARAI) 1 2000 INTEGRA 9.37 7.03
Now, no one has to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. The 1992-1993 Integra uses a 40mm inside diameter hole for the intermediate shaft, 56 mm outside diameter for the case, and it's 8 mm thick. HOWEVER, the HYDRO Intermediate shaft seal is 35mm inside diameter hole for Intermediate shaft but it's still the 56 mm OD and 8 mm thick. SO, I guess if ACURA thought it was important enough to change a seal, I do too.
So, 5 mm difference in the inside diameter of the seal. If it's too small, you'll stretch the seal and the tensioning spring will pop off inside the trans. Probably not a good thing to have a piece of metal going around in there. If it's too big, well, it will leak. For those of us (like me) that have no clue what 5 mm is without looking it up, it is 3/16". That is almost 1/4"!!! Which means if you have a small Ishaft but the big seal, you will have about a 1/8" gap all the way around. I'm pretty sure fluid will be able to escape out of a gap that large. Trans fluid has surface tension but not THAT MUCH.

Re: b series swap axle?
Who the hell cares...he needs to knew what axle to use, the output shaft seal is completely unrelated to the topic. If you want to make a thread about, go do that, but as far as this topic goes, the kid needs a da axle. I personally have a da halfshaft on an 01 gsr trans with a da axle in my 94 civic and there are no leaks. Eat me.

Re: b series swap axle?
Already got it. Doesn't leak, fits fine. I think if there was a 1/8th inch gap, I'd notice it. I don't know if they changed the seal, but the 92 integra axle in the intermidiate shaft fits perfect eith NO LEAKS! Now would someone help me get the car running right in my other thread? Haha
