Default B-L-O-W-N HEAD GASKET
WOULD THERE BE A POSSIBILITY THAT I MESSED UP THE COOLING SYSTEM, IF SO, WHAT COULD I HAVE BEEN?

If you think you might have damaged your coolant system with debris or excessive oil from a head gasket collapse, get the coolant system flushed by a professional and then change the water pump. That will cure any and all issues.
