Default axle trouble Wont lock in

I have a 95 del sol and i recently put in a h22a with manual tranny. the only problem i have to far is the passenger axle wont lock in the tranny it pops out a little and leaks tranny fluid. i looked inside the tranny and tried another axle. what is the trick to this and should i be using tranny fluid or reg oil?

make sure the axle you are using has the same #of splines as the tranny does. get it about in and just slowly spin the axle until the teeth of the splines catch and lock into place. about the tranny fluid... i personaly use the GM syncromesh stuff. cheap and good stuff.

Like Blended said make sure its the same number of splines.

Honda MtF worked better then just a regular 10w30 for me.

I experienced this same problem last week during my swap.

As stated above, first count to make sure the splines on the axle are the same number. Second, check the splines for any damage. In my case, a few were warped a bit (even one being off by a fraction will cause it not to go in). The solution to my problem was to fill down the warped splines. Once I did that, it went it like butter.

Its also suggested to changed the C clip at the end of the axle.

the splined section on a h22 axle is longer than civics and integras. the clip doesn't go in far enough to retain itself . put the h22 inner on your axle.
