Default mini me swap question

if you put a d16y8 vtec head on a d16y7 block how much power will it add, does your redline raise?stock d16y7 redlines at like 6200, so would the d167y8 head raise my redline? also when does the vtec kick in?? sorry im kinda of an engine noob

well if you have the y8 ecu, then run it, the vtec will kick on about 5.5 rpm, and you can rev it to 7 or 7.2 I forgot, and it runns putty good I did it will my old bosses car and put a GSR ecu in it, and that thing was pritty quick, the only thing was it was an OBD2A ecu (gsr)and at idel it would rev up and down , due to the ecu diff. good luck it's a good swap.
