as title states my axle broke off and i was trying to replace it, but it is no stuck inside the halfshaft. i took the halfshaft off after not being able to separate the axle underneath the car. i have sprayed it with liquid wrench, used 2 different size prybars, and attempted to stand on the broken end and pull the halfshaft away from it. any advice?

had this happen to me... only thing to fix it is a BFH (big f**kin hammer). I used a 10lb sledge hammer, after about 4-5 hits it was off...

I'm glad this came up, I had to drop my LS out 2 weeks ago to fix the rear mount and the axle was stuck in the mid shaft, I just dropped the whole assembly out as a whole, but at least now I know what will get it out when the CV joint, etc goes bad.

you can also use an air hammer 5 seconds with that and its gone!

^looking to invest in air tools soon, but it was kinda hard looking for tools in walmart at 2:30am. atleast i know how to do it now if the need comes up again.

just make sure when you put in the new axle, to apply anti seze or grease to the splines of the half shaft before installing the axle. should prevent this from happening again in the event you break another axle.
