Default Axle Install????

I have searched and not found anything out about this,I have a 94 LX 4 door and i just got the axles for it,i was looking at the end that goes into the tranny and there is a C clip on it,I was wondering if you have to pull some cover off of the tranny to change the axles or what?also I was wondering if any one would have detailed instructions on how to do it?I do not have the money to buy a manual.. thanks for the help...it is the stock motor and tranny....

Are you talking about the ring that holds the boot to the axel?? DO NOT remove this. Man, it's been awhile, but I'll go get my Helms to refresh my memory...
1. break hub bolt loose with breaker bar
2.disconnect damper fork from shock assembly and the LCA
3.separate LCA from steering knuckle- you'll need a ball joint separater here
4. swing hub/knockle assy out of way
5. pull out axel- at this time, tranny fluid will leak out unless you drain before hand.
Torque specs- hub nut= 134 ft lbs, reef on it!!

you can actually remove the 3 bolts that hold the LCA on so you dont need a ball joint splitter. then just pull the hub away from the axle (dont let the lca dangle from the ball joint tho. secure it with zip ties temporarily)

and in all the axle changes i have done (4 seperate occasions.....)
ive NEVER drained the tranny fluid and its NEVER leaked.

Mine usually leaks a little, but I think this is because of the tall jackstands I have. It tilts the tranny back some, and the axles are toward the back of the tranny.

I think mine have leaked less than a cup or so, but it's some.

The C-clip is what holds the axle in the transmission. Without it, the axle would slide right out again when you tried to drive your car. Install the axle with the open end of the C-clip facing down, push the axle in as far as it will go, and then pop the axle in using the axle itself kind of like a slide hammer. Be careful not to damage the axle seal when installing the axle.
