Default The awful squelling. help...

how do i get rid of it.. when the car is idel it just squels something awful. i only paid 900 for the 95 ex about 3 days ago and the car runs cherry. i even street raced it with a bunch of extra rims on it and did pretty good. but the squelling i have no idea what it is. How do i fix it? what should i check out? also can it hurt anyting this sound im hearing cuz i just wana drive this car.. im more focused on the H22A im going to put in my hatch. Just cant sneak up on anyone though lol...

so i need to check the timing belt and the alternator belt. damn this car has ac too. even though im in the habit of not using it. check that too. BUT what am i checking for breaks cracks or stiffness. help...

I would suggest, if you are going to be wrenching on your car, and don't know what you are doing, go and buy a manual on it, or go to a parts store and read their book.

Also, check all the belts for cracks, if any of them are showing signs of cracks, they need to be replaced.

i can usually figure it out. when i get started.. i have swapped my engine my self twice, just thought i would ask people here cuz they may no problems i may run into. or easier ways to do certain things... thats all. dont mean to sound stupid..lol.. good times though thanks for the info.

feel the alt belt and you should be able to turn it so you can slightly see the underside of the belt.
Once you can see the underside look for cracks rips or pretty much any imperfections.
If it can be turned a good amount there is a bolt on the alt that will slide up and down.
You will have to lossen this then some how pry the alt back towards the firewall and tighten the nut.
Sometimes its easier to do with two people

only squels at idle or first rev low rpms.. when driving never does it and like i said before i dont use. the ac.. cuz im a bum ***. ha.
