Default Average Gas Mileage?

People with LS swaps in 96-00 Civics (3dr pref), what is your average MPG? How many miles do you get to a full tank? I want to know if my gas mileage sucks, or if I'm just so used to my POS Y7.

What's your mileage? I don't have an LS, but maybe this should be made into a FAQ too. Not that any of the n00bs would read it anyway.

for an ls swap, it's going to depend largely on the tranny. Probably LS tranny 32 mpg+ if driven right. B16 tranny lol

Stock LS, stock tranny. Runs strong, stock OBDIIa P75.

I get maybe 270 to a tank (around 22mpg with mildly agressive driving). I don't drive like a psycho, but I get on it every once in a while (maybe a couple times a tank).

22mpg is about 10mpg less than you should be getting if you don't drive like a jackass. The engine makes more power earlier in the powerband, allowing you to shift at about 2200 without lagging it badly. There's no reason your gas mileage should be under 30 - ever - even if you're driving like a moron.

Odd, in an integra it gets 25/31. I guess I need to start doing normal maintence... *sigh* Fuel filter, wires, cap/rotor .... *yawn* just did oil and plugs.

Well, I get close to 30 with by B16 (y21 tranny). You should get more than me.

There are many things that can factor in as to why you get the gas mileage you get. That doesn't sound bad for someone who is stuck in traffic and does a lot of city driving.

I like to get up in the revs somewhat often, but I still get almost 50% better gas mileage that said OP. They should still get better mileage than they do with an LS trans.

90% of my driving is city, and I do romp on it occasionally.

One more thing:

I also 90% of the time have code 91 present (FTP sensor). I got tired of clearing it every time I forgot to let the fuel pump prime my lines. I was told this was not a runability issue, but does it affect fuel mileage? It doesn't seem to change how the car feels/drives/runs/etc.

would not hurt to get a tune up i.e. spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, clean air filter, new rotor and cap. I'm sure that will help get your gas mileage up to where it should be. I gained like 5-6 mpg by doing a tune up.

I don't have an LS though, but a tune up will not hurt
