Yikes.. My fat-assed (P/S, P/W, P/L, A/C, Dynamat, etc) EK hatch with a USDM GSR with all the emissions equipment gets 29mpg mixed on a stock OBD2a P72 ECU.
I only have a filter and a WS2 exhaust (no cat). Are you modified more?

o also i forgot to mention that if you wanna get good gas milage dont pop into vtec or rev too high. rev to like 3.5k and shift. dont downshift to stop just brake unless you have to have that extra help to stop. and dont always go 80 on the freeway, drop to like 70 and youll see gas milage getting better
actually keeping the throttle position higher and letting the revs climb to just before VTEC eats less fuel.
High load and 2k RPM pushes in more fuel than low load and 4500RPM. (check any fuel map)
I pull ~26-30mpg in my ITR swap with mixed driving and tuned maps.
Got to love cruising at 4500RPM on the highway.

I am averaging 36.3mpg, but the last few tanks have been above that since it's the summer still.

Can you give some more details? Setup, weight, engine, tranny, driving techniques used etc.?
Are you CODFISHing?

Keep up with maintenance(tune ups, fuel cleaner, etc.) and easy starts from traffic lights will make a HUGE difference. Keep light on the throttle, and say if you're on the highway, keep a steady foot on the gas, dont keep coming off and getting back on it.
As for my mileage:
Stock D16Y7 5spd DX hatch.
I made 37mpg at an average of 80mph with a few stints of 100 and went down to 65 through traffic a couple times, on the way from NY to MD and back.
Ps, i wasnt speeding through everyone like an *******, that's how the flow of traffic rolls when its clear on I95. I was getting passed quite a bit, lol.
Driving around Seattle I average 32-36 depending how I drive.

*shakes head* If you don't know, don't act like you do know.
1st of all, what exactly do you mean by "don't pop into VTEC"? None of the cars I have owned with VTEC, "pop" at all, maybe you have some ignition or timing problems?
2nd, "don't downshift". lol. Have you ever had a wideband hooked up to your car and seen the difference in air fuel ratios between downshifting and idling? When you are in high vacuum (decelerating in gear), your injectors shut down, and your AF ratio shoots up. Meaning, your MPG goes way up. Leaving it in neutral means the engine has to idle and it uses gas to maintain a stoichiometric AF ratio. In other words, leaving it in gear, or downshifting will net increased gas mileage.
Also, your mileage goes down dramatically for every mile per hour over 50 you drive. Try going 55 or 60 instead of 70 or 80 and your mileage will increase dramatically.
Go to gassavers.com for more info. Those guys are getting unreal gas mileage through driving technique alone.
