Default Apexi N1 Melted Rear Bumper

Well..the title pretty much says it all.

I got a apexi n1 full exhaust installed on my 00 si and it melted a good little chunk of my bumper...leaving it dangling

this happend cause i got the exhaust off a friend and i dont think it perfectly fits my si and the piping ran like a inch short hiding the exhaust just behind the bumper.

Ive looked up some things to prevent it but no luck with anything for a 00 si.

does anyone know if i can find sumthing like this for a 00 si:
CF Exhaust Shield http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

that would be perfect since my rear bumper already has a cut out for the tip AND cause i wanna try and hide the damaged part.

or would it be better for me to just get some exhaust hangers to let the exhaust hang a little lower?

a friend of mine also pointed me to this:
Shield http://www.motostrano.com/exhaustshield.html

but i dunno if thatll even work.

Basically any advice or info would help

weld piece of pipe to make it longer. or is that one of them chrome rice mufflers? lol if so, my guess would be to lower it...or get rid of it, and get non chrome big fat muffler.

p.s. not hating...thats just what those mufflers are now a days...i used to have a big chrome muffler back when they were hot for those 6months.

on my si it sat an inch to short. i personaly liked the look. but i just dremeled the overhang on the bumper and sanded it smooth. never had any problem with it melting or rubbing anything.
