Anyone know if D16z6 vtec head will work on the EF D15 Dual POINT?
I want to put a z6 head on my daily driver EF. It has dual point. I have done the '' mini me '' swap a couple years ago to my CRX si,but not a 1.5 dual point. I read the 1.5 bottom end in conjunction with a z6 or y8 head is supposed to produce more power than the si swap/hybrid conversion. I just don't know if the dual point will operate properly with the addition of more compression and vtec. Any help is appreciated.

You'll need the OBD1 or OBD2 ECU and wiring, distributor, etc. if you want it to work properly. Other than that, it won't net you a whole lot above what you have now. Get a better transmission - D16Z6 would be good - and do that instead.

i believe that there is alot more wireing involved.. and i dont think you can run the mpfi.. check the crx forum they wouild probably give you a more def answer..

you are going to have to find a mpfi harness to hack up and splice into your dpfi harness to be able to upgrade to an mpfi intake manifold.
the dpfi manifold is your largest restriction for power right now. You can search for "mpfi swap" i've done the swap and it is pretty simple, basically running 4 wires in and splicing them into the ecu plug. You'll need a different distributor, the intake manifold, and a new ecu.
dizzy and ecu depend on what head you choose, you can keep your pm3 head it does fine or you can go vtec, whatever
edit: 6 wires into the ecu plug, a restrictor box and some creative wire routing and plug modifications, basic wiring skills nothing to advanced.

Dual point IS fuel injected. Dual point means it's throttle body injected, only instead of having one fuel injector, there are two. It wouldn't matter which engine or head was on there anyways, if you wanted to convert to MPFI, all it takes is some wiring and the actual manifold itself.
Or you can buy new wiring harnesses already done for you:

Re: Anyone know if D16z6 vtec head will work on the EF D15 Dual POINT? (_Cyclone_)
I apologize to you all because my initial post failed to have the clarity that I meant for it to have. What I meant to say/ask was that I want to use the PM3 stock DX ecu,and dual point intake system in conjunction with a Z6 VTEC head from my EG6 SI will this run properly? I know the rev limiter is lower from experience on the pm3 ecu as opposed to the SI pm6 unit, also I know PGMFI is the overall better way to go but the EF dx is just my beater/daily driver. Someone posted for me to go with the a6 tranny which I did last year. Nuff said any help would be appreciated

You won't be able to use the PM3 ecu. If you want to correctly run the z6 head, you will need an obd0 or obd 1 compatible vtec ecu, or a vtec controller. I'm sure you could possibly use an obd0 distributor (for ease of wiring), but you would still need something to control the vtec solenoid. Aside from that, you might as well switch to MPFI so you could get full potential out of the head. If this is more work than you want to fool with, you might as well stick with the stock head. I don't know if there were any obd0 sohc vtec heads.. maybe someone could elaborate further on that.

It will physically fit on the block and remember as always....
ECU goes with the CYLINDER HEAD. And use the fuel injectors for that ECU.
