the ground wire kill switch wont work...you have to go through the power wire(use a amped switch) i think the fuel pump sending unit grounds also...so even if you interupt the ground wire it still finds a ground.....well thats what happened to me

you dont need a relay...just use a amped switch..10 or 15 amp switch is ok

Re: Anyone have a fuel pump kill switch? (CTR94Joes)
I'm probably going to install a fuel pump kill switch in my Eg.
Couldn't a thief just go to the fuel pump splic for the switch, disconnect the switch and splice the wire back together?
Especially in my hatch I don't have back seats
Where does the power wire run to? What side of the car? I guess it would be smart to splice in somewhere around the seat area where the wire is well hidden under the carpet

Make easy access to your ecu and just carry your ecu around with you whenever you park somewhere that you think is unsafe. Either that or get a VAFC and just take it with you.

I'll probably make a kill fuel pump switch soon. If anyone has pics of a fuel pump on a 98dx hatch that would be very helpful.
Damm thieves!
I heard though that not even taking out your ecu will work because some thieves are so sneaky that they bring ecus with them. Also taking out your ecu everytime you park your car will mess it up because it'll be restarting too much?

Give me a day or two and I will put up a HOW-TO on this. Along with a HOW-TO on my folding mirror installation. All complete with pictures.
All you need is a 25-30A switch(s), some 18-14 gauge, and some wire crimps (if you don't feel like soldering).
You also need a little imagination for where you want to mount the switch(s).

Ya know, how-to might not be the greatest things. Might inspire young stunnas to try stealing cars or educate thieves where the kill switch is. To be honest, get a clutch club and the removable sterring wheel and ull convince most thieves it isnt worth thier time.

Re: Anyone have a fuel pump kill switch? (Nextekhatch)
actually the how to is a good idea, especially since you can put the kill switch anywhere along the wire, or multiple ones at that. A guide for this does not have to be the same for everyone's car, and it will give people ideas on how to better protect their car.
If we don't give the information who will?

LOL, I'm not going to tell everyone WHERE to put the switch. That is up to the individual. I'm just going to make it easier for everyone by putting up pictures. Like I said give me a day or two, and I will have a couple HOW-TO's up. I already did the work and took the pictures, I just need to write them out.

Sounds good
Nothing wrong with explaining the process of the install in detail. If they can't find the switch it doesn't matter

Re: Anyone have a fuel pump kill switch? (Happyman)
Here is a pic of the switch I picked up today from the local Radio Shack for $3:
I will be mounting the switch tommorrow morning and possibly running the wires and finishing the install. My main objective tomm. is to get the switch into a secure stealth location
Damn, I the quality of the Coolpix3100

Yep that's the switch I used. Good luck, shouldn't take much time to do at all. The only thing that takes a while is finding a good place for the switch.

Re: Anyone have a fuel pump kill switch? (Milano_EH3)
For you guys looking for some inexpensive wire. I picked this up this morning in the automotive section at the local Wal-Mart for $2.34
I went with 12 gauge since I am not sure where I am mounting the switch at this point. Better safe than sorry
