Default anyone else have this problem....

When pushing the column for the temp in either direction fully, it bounces back a tad as if on a spring. I can not put my AC, which i never use, to max cold or my heater to max heat, which i really want. I looked inside with a flashlight and could tell the grooves have just been worn down and no longer holding the rod in place. Anyone have a fix for this? I'd love to be able to ride with my windows down at night again.

remove the panel around and below the steering wheel, remove the shifter console, drop the glove box, remove the panel in front of the shifter....up inside of the one in front of the shifter you will see four screws (phillips) which are also bolts(8mm socket) undo those and wiggle the dash component off. or: www.installdr.com will show you.

Guys im not sure where to post as i am a new member just trying to help out my mother in law (scoring points).
shes got a 01 civic LX and she went to the store today and back home and then went to leave again and the steering was to hard for her to turn, I went over there after work and you could barely turn the wheel, yes it does have PS and i started it and it was making a racket so i turned the wheel and sounded like no fluid but there was, I went and bought her a new pump(200.00 with tax) napa and I installed it and i poured the old fluid out of the reservoir and put in brand new honda ps fluid, well i started it and let it run for about 2 min and when to turn the wheel and it was still harder then heck to turn so i waited about 5 min of idle to make sure all the air was out and went to turn again and it started making the same noise now i am pissed, im trying to score some points with the mother in law and it cost me 2 bills and it still don't work, any suggestions ????? any help greatly appreciated.
