Any tips on removing coilover sleeves from a shock/strut?

Any tips on removing coilover sleeves from a shock/strut?
Any tips? Since it's stuck on there good. I want to remove the coilover sleeves off of the shocks/struts.

When in doubt, I always hit stuff with a bfh....then again, I break alot of things too.

Use a rubber mallet. I had some coilover sleeves stuck on some struts before and I pounded them off by hitting the locking perches. It took about a minute and the sleeves came right off with no damage. The mallet however got owned slightly, but it was still very usable.
