Sleve stuck on strut *help*
I just bought some tokico blues with skunk 2 coilovers. I tried to remove the sleeve and they put them on super snug, I've tried to hammer them out with a big flat head from the bottom and it won't work, might be a bad idea so should I use a small tourch to loosen the electrical tape inside?

I am a little lost also are you trying to remove the sleeve from the shock? Or are you trying to adjust the ride hight?

Yea, i bought the blues with the coilover on them but i only wanted the skunk2 coilovers and i planned to sell the blues because i have some illuminas that will let me go lower then the blues. It looks like they may have used the rubber rings with the electrical tape to get the sleeve snug on the strut but in time now it seems impossible to get off, i read in another forum that somone used a small torch but i dont want mess anything up within the strut by heating it up that way.

yeah those orings between the sleeve and shock hold it pretty well
especially after a couple years of settling, the orings go from round to square. hammering won't get them off.. it'll just **** everything up. you need a constant steady pressure... try a pulley puller.. or tie the the shock to a tree and thread the sleeve to a chain and a car lol

In anycase, if I am not mistaken there should be some space between the sleeve and the shock/strut try lubricating that area. You can also try using thermaldynamics to your advantage, shrinkage and expansion. .Basically, keep pulling and you should get it.

this is how my car sits right now, i dont want it as low as it is but i want to at least have no gap bettween wheel n fender. Im getting top hats in a week but i still would rather run the illuminas.

Damn, I was riding that low but got tired of people looking at me like I killed a cat everytime I scraped...no fat chicks, ha ha. Yeah, I almost did the illuminas but I'm cheap and didn't care about adjustment; but, "smok 'em if you got 'em"

yea, it looks sick that low but it's just not cool enough to outweigh the shifty ride and scraping. If I can't get the coilovers it's ok I guess I'm getting some top hats anyways, but it sucks to have to lose money ok the illuminas.

About the wheels I like the mesh wheels it's just personal prefrence I guess. Plus I got them for 100 bucks with good tread, good luck finding a better deal. About the struts I just used the blues to save time and ill sell the illuminas.

Yeah, just personal opinion, I am not fond of any mesh wheels; maybe its just the work of cleaning them.
$100 for good tires too, can't go wrong.
