Antenna Help
Hi all,
Searched, didnt really find anything.
Anyways, I was installing my friends JVC KD-LH300 into my EG today. And I was a lil bit stumped on something.
I just want to see if I have everything straight, behind the Deck there is a cable like this:
The plug that goes into that is end of the antenna that looks like this:
The thing in the white square at bottom on the left.
Right?
If im right, I guess there is something wrong, because when looking inside my dash, I have a cable that I assume is the antenna cable because it was plugged into my other reciever and when not plugged, reception of FM was pretty minimal. BUT it wasnt the same one as shown above. It look like the female just with a tiny metal thing in the middle (Like a coaxial cable).
Now, is there some sort of adapter that changes it to the proper end? Or do I have buy a new antenna? ( I wouldnt mind buying a new antenna 30$ shipped no biggie)
Also if I were to buy a new antenna, I would like to get the antenna block off plate and relocate my antenna. Now where would be the best place to relocate to? And is it very difficult to do?
If Im wrong, could someone point me in the right dirrection.
Thanks alot, all information much appreciated.

Re: Antenna Help (BlueIntegraBoy)
Cool, thanks.
In your car, is there only the actual antenna showing. Did you feed the wires through the cieling of your car then down the pillars, or is the cord jst along the top of your windshield?
Would this be a good antenna?:

Also when they say in the wheel well, do they mean pretty much where the rear speakers would go in an EG, in between the plastic and the medal body?
Thanks

Yes, I ran the line behind the roof panel and behind the a-pillar cover, through the dash. The eBay antenna is pretty much the same as the one I had.
I think they were joking about the wheel well, which is the place between your tire and fender or quarter panel.

I was browsing the forum on how I woudl wire this, to remove a pillar, do I have to take off a lot of things, or I can take it off very easily? Also, where did you ground it?

Re: Antenna Help (BlueIntegraBoy)
K thanks. Last question. Do I need to buy the whole blockoff kit(gasket+screws+plate). Or can I just buy the plate alone?

You can reuse the screws, but I would get a new gasket for a piece of mind. You can get everything for like $10.
