Default Antenna

I wondered why my radio didn't get many stations in my 97 civic hatchback...it's because the cable for the antenna has been cut where the antenna is intalled into the roof...so how do I get a cable from there into the interior? Thanks for your help...

honestly...I have no clue. My antenna broke a few years back (I was like 16 at the time) and had no clue how to get a new antenna and run it to the head unit, so i let O'Donnell Honda own me for 150 bucks. I still dont know how to do it to this day...hopefully someone does.

EDIT: I just realized this post is completely worthless.

ouch.. 150 bux is steep for an antenna that only costs 9 bux at cost and 20$ retail.. you will have to get a new antenna for the best reception.. you have to take out the old one and fish the new antenna down the drivers side a-pillar.. its isnt easy and isnt fun.. at work we charge people about 60 bux to do it and most people will pay it cause they have NO clue how to do it themselves..

ya...it would be no sweat to do...if I had a cable already in the car to tie a string to and then use the string to re-fish the new one back into the car...my problem is that I have no old cable to tie the string to...I got a busted antenna that just covers the hole...

yes you did have to do it the hard way.. but a wire fish or coat hanger does the trick also..

I'm having a similar problem in my 97EX, my kenwood just isn't picking up the stations like the rest of my cars. I'm pretty sure the antenna has never been cut.....is this a common civic thing? Since mines all intact, what should I be looking for to correct this?
