Default another short shifter install Q

* searched btw so hold your peace...

im installing a b&m short shifter for a 94+ gsr and my o-rings are pissing me off...
i read the FAQ and they dont give me much help with the rings...

ok so they give you
3 of the thick rings
2 of the thinner rings
4 of the small rings..
i know where the 4 go....
the 2 thicker ones go on the ends of the collar...
where in the hell do the rest go?
if i put the 2 thinner rings on the right (driver side) it uhh doesnt fit on the collar..
and that means i have 1 left over ( the thick one..)
the hell does this go??
ill take the flaming but keep it to a minimum fooz...thnx

The more rings you squeeze in there the less play left to right you'll have. Just get enough in there so that it's tight. Just so long as the bolt goes thought the linkage and the shifter you'll be alright. A short shifter isn't exactly a precision install, so don't worry too much about it.

Or in gear. They're really just like washers. Without them the shifter will slide along the bolt until it reaches the side of the linkage. With the washers in place the shifter will not slide left to right.
