amplifiers in 92 1.5L
right now im running a single 300 watt dual amplifier, powering 2 rear jensen 3 ways, and a 12" EV. was wondering how many people have systems in their cars with the stock altenator, cause i want to eliminate the EV. and go to dual, 300 watt amps powering about 8 3 ways in the rear deck lid

I've been running a Sony Xplod 850 for about 7 years now, first on a stock d series alternator, then on a stock gsr alternator after I swapped. I'm pushing 2 Kenwood 12s. I'm running the amp bridged to mono; not entirely sure of the wattage, but I think it's around 450rms. Wiring is (if I remember correctly) 6 guage stranded copper wiring I got from the hardware store, that I think was intended for house grounding. I don't know exactly because I put it all in 7 years ago, and haven't had to touch it since.
My car runs 14.1 to 14.4 volts all day long - I have an electronic multigauge, and that's one of the values I watch. No capacitors, never had an alternator problem ever, and I just swapped in the 3rd battery the car's ever had (9 years old).
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the hardcore car audio guru that some of these guys are, but I would see no problem running 2 300s on a stock alternator if you do it right. Personally, I'd do it, and I actually considered a second one to run my mids.
