Icon2 Alternator voltage regulator compatibility/ interchangeable ?

I've been having some voltage issues with my '94 CX lately, and have traced it back to the voltage regulator in my year and a half old refub'd alternator. Rather than spending more $ to get another alternator, I'd rather find one at a local junkyard and swap the voltage regulator into mine. The junkyards close to here don't have too many import cars, and most that are there have been picked clean.

Basically I'm wondering what ones I have to choose from. I know OBD2 cars have a different plug, so those are out of the question. What about '88-'91 Civics or Integras? I don't think they have any older Integras there, but I'd like to know anyways. The reason I ask is because my friend has what he believes to be a 4th gen Civic alternator, and it appears to have the same circle plug connector. Unfortunately it is pretty corroded, so I'd rather find one in better condition anyways.

if it has a warranty then take it in, ive never heard anything about people swapping just the voltage regulator.

Usually as long as it's the same brand like nipin for nipin and denso for denso u can swap parts. If ur comfortable doing it then go for it but the brushes can b a pain to get back in.

I don't believe it's under warranty anymore, it's been over a year since I bought it. I can't find my receipt or warranty card anyways; I swear I saved them. I honestly can't even remember where I bought it, because I have 3 auto parts stores right down the road from me.

I figured it might work by just swapping the voltage regulators, if it is indeed my problem. People swap them when they do different OBD engine swaps. And it'd make me feel a whole lot better spending another $7 for a voltage regulator from a junkyard, rather than spending $150+ for a new one again. I was definitely planning to take some pictures of the process, as long as I don't get too frustrated.

But back to my original question, anyone know if any OBD0 voltage regulators will work?
