Alternator light flickers

Re: Alternator light flickers
1. This might sound stupid, have you replaced the wires on your battery? Make sure you have the correct gauge, a small wire won't hold as much current, and the resistance will go up with high amperage, causing high load applications to not receive full power.
2. Checking a wire with an ohm meter doesn't work well because a wire's resistance goes up with more current flow, your meter doesn't push much current at ALL. Test for voltage drop (Set your Multimeter to voltage), turn on all electrical accessories, car running, and put a positive meter lead on the ground side of the alternator, negative lead on a known good ground. This number should not be above .33v If this tests lower than .33v, your ground is good, if it is higher than .33v, your ground is bad. The way I see what your problem is, your alternator is running enough to charge your car, but not keep it at full charge. Check for corroded wires going to your ground.
Get back at me when you've tried this. If i don't respond to this thread pm me.
