Default air fuel gauge.

so i want to put a air fuel ratio gauge in my car but heres the problem. i dont no which one to get and i looked down the backside on the header by the firewall and the sensor that is below the throttle body had cut wires. which is why i believe my check engine light is on. also i dont have a cat on the car and the engine is a b20. anyone got any input of how i can hook up a airfuel gauge and which one to get? and is it worth it? i really just want it to get rid of the boost gauge in the pod because the car used to have a boosted gsr. i cant take the pod off because there is a big hole behind the pod. any sugestions and help id appreciate it.btw i dont no how to hook up a airfuel gauge but i was just guessing that was the o2 sensor that i was looking at.

PLX makes a nice wideband. Narrow bands are dumb like "90Rex" said. They come with directions to help with install. As far as just trying to eliminate the boost gauge; why not just replace the panel? Is the motor built? In other words do you need a wideband o2? Or any gauges for that matter? But the fact of the matter is: it's your car. So that being said, GL.

with a WIDEBAND guage, the sensor just goes directly to the guage, no wiring goes to the ecu. just power and ground for the guage, then the sensor plugs right into the back of the guage.

ok so when i run the wires for the gauge i can just run them right to the o2 sensor and the power to the fuse box and ground to frame correct? im going to pick up my gauge today so i dont no what wires are on it. all i know is there is a few different wires cut from the o2. i didnt count how many i just know they are all cut with about 2 or 3 inches of wire coming off of it.

Narrow bands only accurately read a very narrow range. A wide band is far more precise. PLX makes a fairly inexpensive one and you can find it on eBay. Thats what I went with since it was cheaper than the others I was considering.
